Groups may join on either a “Full Board” membership basis or on an “Affiliate” membership basis.
Full Board Membership
- Must pay a one-time fee of $800 to join
- Must provide a signed resolution which states that they agree to the OBC bylaws
- Entitles entity to full voting rights on all benefit issues
- Entity elects one representative to the Board of Members and receives one vote
- Provides access to negotiated rates for medical and all other benefits
- Required to remain with the OBC for at least three years if in the OBC Medical Pool; required to remain at least 2 years if in the OBC Purchasing Cooperative
- Jurisdiction must be located in defined OBC territory
Affiliate Membership
- Must pay a one-time fee of $75 to join
- Affiliate members have no voting rights
- Provides access to negotiated rates for Life, AD&D, and dependent life only (no medical)
- There is no tenure requirement
- Jurisdictions in the Life pool must reside within the State of Ohio
Participation in the OBC is subject to approval by the OBC Membership Committee and Board of Members.
